First, thank you to Adventures of a Bibliophile who introduced me to this tag. I also enjoyed the version posted by Kristin Kraves Books This tag was originally created by Nicole (@nicoleandherbooks).
a popular book everyone loves but you have no interest in reading
a classic book/author you don’t have an interest in reading
an author whose books you have no interest in reading
I gave up trying. Too boring and too long. I made it through The Pickwick Papers and A Christmas Carol. All the others I’ve tried I’ve discarded and not looked back.
a problematic author whose books you have no interest in reading
I’m not sure if this is someone who plagiarized, someone who invented a story and called it Nonfiction or just J.K. Rowling. I’m against plagiarism. I do not like invented nonfiction. I don’t care what authors say on social media any more than I care what Trump or Biden say on it. People have opinions. All opinions don’t match mine. Next question?
an author you have read a couple books from and decided their books are not for you
Ann Hood. I loved her debut all those years ago, have enjoyed several others along the way, but The Italian Wife was just ICK.
a book you bought but will never read OR a library book you borrowed but returned unread
On another day I might have devoured this. I got it from the library and just wasn’t into it. Didn’t even open it. Yes, I’m a moody reader.
a series you have no interest in reading
a new release you have no interest in reading
The title put me off right away. Then there was the story blurb. Nope, not for me.

Great answers, Lisa, I might give this a go, when I have some spare time.

Some of my answers would match yours – I have zero interest in George Martin or Ulysses (shudder). Authors I wouldn’t want to read would tend to be in the fantasy genre or the very popular authors like James Patterson.

Fantasy does nothing for me. Same with sci fi. Patterson–I guess it would depend who the featured author is since he has others write and he endorses them.

I see people raving about fantasy (including my sister) and i’m baffled by the appeal
