Top Ten Tuesday often does “What’s on your Winter/Spring/Summer/Fall TBR” and that usually leads me to survey new or soon-to-be-released books. But do I read them? Not always! I also suffer from what I call “homework syndrome”–if I put books in a list that must be read I lose interest. So, here are some that I’ve never done the “homework” with (bad grammar, I know).
I have not included any I DNF-ed.
Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia
The Great Circle: A Novel by Maggie Shipstead
The Last Bathing Beauty by Amy Sue Nathan
Lear Wife: A Novel by J.R. Thorp
The Rain Watcher: A Novel by Tatiana De Rosnay
The Husbands: A Novel by Chandler Baker
The Parisians: A Novel by Marius Gabriel
I’m not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sanchez
In Five Years: A Novel by Rebecca Serle
The Farm: A Novel by Joanne Ramos
Have you read any of these? Leave me a comment or a link to your review.

I felt the same about The Farm. Was so intrigued by the premise but never got around to reading it. I’ve actually unhauled it now!
In Five Years is fantastic. Crushed me!

I thought In Five Years was well worth reading.
I haven’t gotten around to The Parisians and I’m Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter either.

That’s funny, I am the opposite. If I put it on a list I try harder to get to it!! I have not read any of these. I do hope you enjoy them when you get the opportunity (or want to).

I think most readers are either “love to read from a list” or “lose interest once we put it on a list”-types. Thanks for reading.

Mexican Gothic! I have had that one on my TBR list, too, for quite some time.
Great list.

I‘ve heard amazing things about Mexican Gothic, but haven‘t read it yet. Silvia Moreno-Garcia released another book last year too that I‘ve heard really good things about, Velvet Was the Night. One day…!
Hope you enjoy these when you get to them!

The Great Circle is on my TBR, but I just haven’t gotten around to getting a copy to read. And now that it has been nominated for a bunch of awards, it will probably be harder to get the library copy.
Thanks for stopping by my post earlier.

Very good to hear about Perfect Mexican Daughter. I couldn’t remember my Google login, but I LOVED several of the covers in your list–I haven’t read any of them so I can’t tell you which to go for. Thanks for reading here.

I TOTALLY get you on the homework reading. It’s such a weird phenomenon, but it happens to me all the time. Too bad I love lists so much!
Happy TTT!

Ha, “homework syndrome” is the perfect name for it — I’m definitely afflicted! Of these, I’ve read In Five Years, Mexican Gothic, and I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter, and thought they were all terrific. I also have copies of The Farm,The Husbands, and Bathing Beauty that I haven’t read yet… maybe someday.

Based on the overwhelming response I’ll keep the three you’ve read on my tbr and may still try the others if the mood strikes.

I’m aware of most of the books on this TTT. The only one I’ve read so far is In Five Years. I was amazed at how many of your readers loved this novel. I have not yet written a review but was thinking of giving it 2 Stars. I thought the first half was okay but the rest was confusing, illogical, and disappointing. Maybe I missed something so I am hoping you enjoy it.
