The 1929 Club: What I’ve Already Read, What I Might Read

1929 club

4th-30th October 2022, Simon at Stuck in a Book, will host another “year” read. This time it will be 1929. Pick any book published that year and review it. Let others know about it so they can learn about more 1929 books.

What I’ve Already Read from 1929

My review of Passing by Nella Larsen, the only one I’ve read while blogging here. My comment on reading The Sound and the Fury is here.

What I Might Read

I’ve been copping out and reading an Agatha Christie for some of these events, so The Seven Dials Mystery may end up being my choice. I haven’t been doing any print reading lately. Unemployment is sucking the life out of me again. Add in the problem of getting my hands on a free copy via the library and I may be limited to only the Agatha Christie!

Are you reading anything for this Challenge? If so, leave me a comment or a link to your own post–I may learn of a book I would enjoy more!

  1. I read The Last September last year – enjoyed some aspects but didn’t feel that engaged by the characters unfortunately.
Have you looked at Project Gutenburg to see if they have any of the books you are interested in? Many of them should be out of copyright

  2. Sounds like a fun challenge! I’ll be interested to see what you end up reading. Passing is a book I definitely want to get to — I have no idea if I’ve read other 1929 books, but I have a feeling that if I were doing this challenge, I’d probably check to see what Georgette Heyer published that year. 🙂

I enjoy reading your comments!
