Here are a few of the books I’m anxiously awaiting between now and the start of Spring. This list is nearly all historical fiction. I haven’t found a good list of all genres so these will suffice for today. Can you guess the two I’m most looking forward to?
Top 10 Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish each week. You can read more about it here. Or, you can read this week’s lists here.
Well, the covers are almost all gorgeous! Very enticing. I’m reminded of the very plain hardcovers at my library as I grew up. It’s a wonder I ever got into reading — but I guess it’s true that you can’t judge a book by its cover (well, at least sometimes) 🙂

Such books are just not checked out any more unless it’s a school assignment. Times change! I keep noticing the trends in cover design. Right now there’s an awful one to make all of an author’s covers look alike. And then there’s the make-every-book-look-like-bestseller-X trend that I also dislike. Covers should be original to the book. That’s my 2 cents!

I am kind of a sucker for beautiful covers, and some of these are gorgeous. I am debating on whether or not to read My Dear Hamilton; I read so much non-fiction, I approach historical fiction with caution. Maybe I will wait to see what you think!

I do throw some back due to historical inaccuracies. I have yet to find much royal fiction I can read (that is royal from Victoria onward). I’ve read way, way too much on them!

Ah, these all look amazing! I can’t wait for the Jojo Moyes book — I think I’m #1 on the request list at my library branch. 🙂 I just read a review of the Laura Ingalls Wilder book over the weekend. It sounds fascinating. And now I need to go look up a few of the other books on your list…

Anxious to have the JoJo one, too. She was just in Kentucky doing research for a new book–that sounds interesting.

I’m looking forward to Prairie Fires! I’m kind of on a Little House kick lately; I just read Caroline: Little House Revisited (loved it), and my daughter is getting the series for Christmas.

Great Christmas gift! I didn’t read them as a child–they came back into fashion when the show came on in ’73 or so. I was “too cool” by then! lol. So, I read them as an adult.
