I have read only one Steinbeck. That is East of Eden. So I will definitely keep Pearl in mind

I am intending to read East of Eden this year. Only, it fell behind the bookcases! So don’t want to unload one to move it. Lazy? Yup lol. Pear is very good and very short.

Reading books in one sitting is so fun, yet sad because then you’re finished. I hope you find more one sitting reads in your future!

I have yet to read The Uncommon Reader even though I have had a copy for years. And it’s short, so you think I would have gotten to it by now! I do want to read it, and I’m sure I will enjoy it. Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress and Night are such good choices. I liked both books immensely. I haven’t yet read Daughter in Time of Things Fall Apart, but both are on my TBR pile. I’m not familiar with Texts from Jane Eyre–I will definitely have to look for that one. Thanks for sharing your list!

Texts from Jane Eyre is just snorts & giggles fun. Nothing serious! A book like Downton Tabby but with text messages instead of silly photos!

Night is such a good read and is a quick one. It’s been years, decades actually, since I’ve read The Pearl… I am a Steinbeck fan, so should reread this book soon.

Brat Farrar is good as well by her. There’s also a new(er) mystery series out with Josephine Tey herself as a character! Thanks for coming by.

Most of these are new to me, though I can easily see why Night made the list. I read it in high school and could not put it down. Such heartbreak, it was almost too much. Great list, thanks for the chance to take a look. Happy Reading!

I was the same reading Night. Amazing what he endured.
